St. Francis Xavier Hospital

St Francis Xavier Hospital is an accredited NHIS facility that provides safe healthcare for the people of Assin Foso and its environs. With a bed capacity of 156, the hospital is able to cater for the 88,753 indigenes of Assin Foso and its communities.

In 2020, an assessment done by Safecare, an international assessment body on quality health improvement standards, placed the facility at level 4, the highest so far in the country. The certification ranges from 1 to 5 with 1 being the least and 5 the highest.

As part of our mission, the facility was established to provide care and support for people who are sick, disabled, elderly or suffering from dementia.

Since its inception in the 1950s, we have been one of the best performing hospitals in the whole of Central Region. In 2021, we were adjudged the first best performing hospital in the Central Region by the Central Regional Health Directorate.
